Yes, I like rock — I always have. I listen to all types of music, but there’s something about rock that hits different, so I was excited to create a rock track for this album. Pretty Poison actually makes the third rock song on the project, though the other two aren’t as heavy.
I wrote this one back in the 90s, during a time when AIDS was rising fast and fear was everywhere. The poem I paired it with was about death, and together they made an intense, unexpected combination that turned into a powerful rock piece.
